Fred Dunn's Jeep

BRIEF HISTORY:

I have owned this jeep for about a quarter of a century.  I recovered it from a south coast scrap yard and took around 18 months to rebuild with the inevitable help of Tony Sudds.  The jeep was used by the British Army as a stretcher vehicle with the spare wheel moved one side and no extra jerry can on the back.  The screen was down flat with two light tubular stretchers one above the passenger seat.  It  was complete with two butler lights on the wings and a bosch horn.  It was also in an appauling condition requiring major work in every department.  I restored it to USA livery in remembrance of my pal Larry Russell of Kansas City MO, who was  a  ball gunner on B17 Sleepytime Gal who completed around 30 missions with the 8AFF 385 BG 550 Sqn. based at Gt Ashfield.
